How the coaching process works

From your first email to your first redemption — here's exactly what to expect.

1

Book a free 20-minute discovery call

We'll spend 20 minutes getting to know each other. I'll ask about your current cards, your travel goals, and how you spend money. You'll ask whatever questions you have. There's no pitch and no pressure — the goal is to figure out if we're a good fit.

If we are, you'll choose a service tier and we'll schedule your first full session.

Fill out your intake form

Before your strategy session, I'll send you a short intake form. It covers: cards you currently hold, your monthly spending by category, where you want to travel, how flexible your dates are, and your credit profile (ballpark is fine).

This is what lets me walk into the call with a real plan instead of starting from scratch. Takes about 10 minutes to fill out.

3

Your strategy session (60 minutes)

This is the core of the engagement. We'll cover:

  • Card stack recommendation — which cards to keep, which to add, and in what order based on signup bonus timing and your credit profile
  • Earning optimization — which card to use for which category of spend to maximize your points-per-dollar
  • Program strategy — which loyalty programs to consolidate into based on your travel patterns
  • Redemption targets — specific award opportunities you should be aiming for, with estimated point costs
  • Signup bonus plan — which bonuses to chase and in what order to maximize value without hurting your credit

Your written summary (Full Playbook clients)

For Full Playbook clients, I send a written strategy doc within 48 hours of your session. It captures everything from the call in a clear, actionable format so you're never confused about what to do next.

Included: your recommended card stack with application timeline, your earning optimization cheat sheet by spend category, your top 3–5 redemption targets with current award availability notes, and a transfer partner map for your programs.

5

Follow-up & execution support

Full Playbook clients get a 30-minute follow-up call 2–3 weeks later. This is where we check in on card applications, troubleshoot any issues, and start talking about when and how to book your target redemptions.

Ongoing Coaching clients get this every month, plus proactive alerts when transfer bonuses or limited-time card offers align with their strategy — and hands-on help actually booking the award.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need great credit to work with you?
Not necessarily. My recommendations are tailored to your actual credit situation. If your credit needs work before you start applying for premium cards, I'll tell you exactly what to do to get there and give you a timeline to work toward.
Won't applying for multiple cards hurt my credit score?
This is one of the biggest misconceptions. Done strategically — with spacing, timing, and the right cards — the impact is minimal and temporary. Most clients see their score fully recover within 3–6 months. I'll walk you through this in detail.
Is this worth it if I'm not a big spender?
Yes, and here's why: the biggest value doesn't come from everyday spending — it comes from signup bonuses. A single card bonus can be worth $1,000–$2,000 in travel value. You don't need to spend your way to free flights.
I already have a lot of points sitting around. Can you help me use them?
Absolutely. This is actually one of the most common situations I work with. Many people have stockpiled points and have no idea how to use them well. A single session can unlock enormous value from points you already have.
How is this different from just reading The Points Guy or Doctor of Credit?
Those sites give you information — I give you a decision. There's no shortage of information about points and miles. What's hard is knowing which information applies to your specific situation, in what order to act, and what to ignore. That's what you're paying for.
Do you work with business travelers?
Yes, and business travelers are often the most underserved. If your company reimburses travel but you're not earning points on those purchases, you're leaving serious money on the table. I'll also help you think through business cards and separating personal vs. business spending for maximum points.
What if I just want economy flights, not fancy business class?
Totally fine. The strategy changes but the value is just as real — you can fly economy far more frequently, cover entire family vacations, or bank points for future use. I build the strategy around your actual goals.
Are you a financial advisor?
No, and I want to be clear about that. I'm a travel rewards consultant, not a licensed financial advisor. My advice is specifically about optimizing credit card rewards and travel redemptions — not investment, tax, or general financial advice. Always apply for credit responsibly and within your means.
